1.1 Why Choose a Home Direct Gift Registry?

Or if they are financial able they can simply shop using a credit card or cheque, while enjoying 10% discount, our wonderful gift wrapping and delivery service.
For you a Home Direct Gift Registry allows you to choose product at your leisure, send out registry links to your friends and family, receive notifications each time a product is purchased, and even the chance to earn “Refer a Friend “ points and prizes.
1.2 Do our Guest’s have to be Home Direct Customers?
Your guests do not need to have a Home Direct Lifestyle Account to purchase from your Gift Registry; they can simply register online and shop using credit card or cheque.
1.3 Can our Friends and Family purchase from the register using a Lifestyle Account?
If they are current Home Direct Lifestyle Account Customers, they can simply go to your registry fill out their account number and password and shop. The gift they select will then be sent to their home address. (Or the postal address they have provided when setting up their Lifestyle Account).
If your friends and family are new to Home Direct, and would like to pay for their gift by opening a Lifestyle Account, we will arrange for a salesperson to come to their home and help them with their application. Once their weekly payments have begun and they have an account password, they will be able to shop from your Gift Registry using their Lifestyle Account.
If you think this is something your guests would like to do It would pay to set up the Gift Registry as soon a possible to give your friends and family maximum time to set up their accounts.
Don’t forget if they say they heard about Home Direct from you, they count toward “Refer a Friend” points and will help you earn some great prizes.
1.4 How much does Gift Wrapping and Delivery Cost?
To support the launch for the Registry all gift wrapping and delivery costs are free of charge, if you sign up before Christmas 2011.

1.6 Some of our guests don’t have Internet, can they still use our registry?
Definitely! Guests can call us on 0800 466 334 and we will run through your registry with them, they can then shop using credit card or cheque or their Home Direct Lifestyle Account.
1.7 What happens with delivery of the Gifts?
Guest purchasing using cheque or credit card can choose to either have the gift delivered to their home or to your nominated address.
Your guests who shop using a Home Direct Lifestyle Account will all be bringing their gifts to your event themselves. As it is Home Direct’s policy that any product purchase using a Lifestyle Account or Hire-Purchase are delivered to the person who is paying for that product, protecting both our customer’s and Home Direct against possibly fraud.
1.8 Why can we not have all gifts delivered to us directly?
When customers shop from your registry using their Lifestyle Account, they are a actually receiving the product before they have paid for it. It is therefore vitally important that our customers see their purchase rather than it going straight to you.
However if all your customers pay by credit card or cheque they can all be sent to your nominated address.
1.9 Why choose an Online Registry?
The Home Direct Gift Registry, allows customers three ways to pay: Cheque, Credit Card or Home Direct Lifestyle Account. It allows customers to shop at any time of the day or night, and call on our friendly customer service team 8.30am – 7pm Weekdays, or 9 -3.30pm on the weekends. You can make changes at any time, your updates are instant and you can see what is purchased and by who.
1.10 What payment options do you offer?
We accept NZ cheques, credit cards (Visa/Mastercard) or Home Direct Lifestyle Account.
1.11 How many items should I put on my list?
A large variety of items and a range of prices are beneficial for easy gift selections for your guests.
1.12 When should we set up our registry?
If you think your friends and family would like the option of shopping using a Home Direct Lifestyle Account the sooner you set up the Gift Registry the better, we will also keep the Registry open for one month after your event.
1.13 How should we advise guests about our registry?
Within “Manage My Registry” you have the opportunity to send an email with a link to all your Wedding Guests, explaining to them how to shop using your registry. This email has been designed by us to ensure all the details are provided, while also giving you the opportunity to send a personalised messaged. Best of all once you have set up your wedding guest list within “Manage Your Registry” you can send guests an update whenever you like.
1.14 Can I add and remove items from my list?
Yes you can add and delete products when ever you like as long as they have not been purchased.
1.15 What if items on our registry are no longer available?
If a product you have chosen get sold out or discontinued you will automatically be sent an email letting you know and giving you a chance to choose another product. This can be a problem at catalogue change over time which happens in September, March and June. However once a product is purchased the order is process immediately and delivered with 5 working days.
1.16 When will we receive our gifts?
If guests purchase using a Home Direct Lifestyle Account, your guests will likely bring gifts to your event. For guests who shop using credit card of cheque, your guests can decide whether they would like to bring the gifts to your event, or for gifts to be sent to your nominated address on your nominated day.
1.17 What happens if the item is on sale?
Our website is constantly updated so all prices are current, if an item is on sale, the sale price will be shown.
1.18 How long does it take until my guests can start purchasing?
Once you set up your Gift Registry your guest can start to view and purchase Immediately..
1.19 What happens if a gift that was couriered by Home Direct is broken when I open it?
In this unfortunate instance, we will happily replace the item for you. If this item is no longer available, we will then exchange it for a product to the equal value. Just call us on 0800 466 334 and we will explain what to do.
1.20 How will we know who chose which gift?
Within “Manage my Registry” you have the ability to choose to have an email update every time a guest makes a purchase, this will tell you who purchased what, and will include any personal message they have sent. You will also receive a Gift list at the time of your event, and 1 month.
Your guests will also have the opportunity to include a handwritten card, which they can purchase at check-out.
1.21 How long will our registry stay open?
Your registry will remain open for one month after your event.
1.22 Delivery Fees?
For product purchased using your Lifestyle account, the purchase will be delivered free of charge.
For gifts purchased using credit, card or cheque we charge a flat fee: North Island $7.50 South Island $15.00, we do no deliver to Chatham Islands, Stewart Island or Great Barrier Islands.
We use New Zealand’s biggest and most reputable freight companies for speedy safe delivery.

1.23 Will I receive “Refer a Friend” if people on my Registry become Home Direct Customers?
Yes if your friends and family become Home Direct Lifestyle Account Holders and if they nominate you as the referrer at time of account sign-up, then they will count towards “Refer a Friend “rewards.
2.1 How do I find my friends/family Gift Registry?
Click on to “View your friends and family Gift Registry” and follow the prompts e.g. Event Type: Wedding/Baby Shower/birthday, name of Friend/family member, Event date. By answering these few easy questions you will be able to view the registry of your friend or family member.
2.2 Will you gift-wrap my present?
Yes we offer a free gift wrapping service, for larger items where it is not practical to wrap we will include a bow and a card.
2.3 What payment options are there?
We accept NZ Cheques and credit cards (Visa/Mastercardt) or using their Home Direct Lifestyle Account.

2.4 What is a Lifestyle Account?
Most people who shop with Home Direct have one of our special Home Direct Lifestyle Accounts. It’s the account that gives you greatest flexibility to buy things straight away and pay them off over time with small weekly payments.
As an example, when you open a Lifestyle Account; as a new customer you can spend up to $150 and pay as little as $10 a week in repayments.
2.5 I want to include my own personal message?
You can write a personal message at time of “check out” which the host will see, beside your name, and what gift you purchased.
Alternatively at check out you can purchase a card from Home Direct, which we can write in your personal message, or we can simply send the card with the gift to you to fill out.
2.6 Where and when are the wedding gifts sent?
If your are planning on shopping using a Home Direct Lifestyle Account , the gift will be sent automatically to you, straight after you buy it.
If you shop using credit card or cheque you can choose whether to have the gift sent to you or to the nominate address of the “host” (the person who set up the registry).
2.7 Delivery Fees?
For product purchased using your Lifestyle account, the purchase will be delivered free of charge.

2.8 Are the credit card details I submit secure?
Absolutely. Our server uses Internet-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) channel encryption to protect the credit card information. Support for SSL encryption is built into standard Web browsers, including Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator. Furthermore, and perhaps most importantly, our server fully supports the use of state-of-the-art 128-bit encryption to scramble your details, making them indecipherable to any electronic eavesdropper.
All domestic credit card payments are handled in real-time by Direct Payment Solutions.
2.9 How will I know The Home Direct have received my order?
The product you purchased will show as” bought” and be greyed out. You will also receive an email confirming your order.
2.10 Can I choose something else not included on the registry list?
You can certainly purchase anything on our website and give it as a gift. But because it is not on the “hosts” gift registry it will not be gift wrapped or included on the Gift Registry List that goes to the “host” once the registry is closed off.
2.11 How can I find someone if I do not know their full name?
Yes if you know the type of event (wedding/birthday/baby etc), and their first or last name you will find their registry.
2.12 How long does if take before the recipient will receive my gift?
Depending on the courier service, the gift recipient will receive your specially chosen gift within 2-5 days.
